“It’s like hanging out with friends you’ve never met before.”

    - by Brooke Russell
“When you come to a Recovery Beyond event, it’s like hanging out with friends you may never have met before.
The new vision is to have year-round programming with multiple activities that can reach a different part of a person. So if you like hiking, getting outside, yoga, being social, biking, or art, you’ll be able to find it here. And we’ll still have mountaineering for those who find their solace and power in that.
We are a place where you can come together with like-minded people in recovery or those who support a sober lifestyle. During COVID we are offering online activities and small scale hikes.
To get involved, check out our website or contact me through social media or email and I’ll help you find the best way to be involved.”

“I literally just want to tell everyone about it.”

    - by Brooke Russell
I used opiates since I was about 17, so about 13 years.
I spent so much time in my addiction being in closed doors, you know, like in bathrooms, hiding away from people. Sometimes our self-talk is the most destructive.
I’m super-passionate about Recovery Beyond. It has had such a huge impact on my life and been a really big part of my recovery. You’re roped up with a team of people that is guiding you, that is pushing you, that is following you from behind, not to try to tell you what to do or how to live your life, but that will be with you through the ups and the downs.
I just can’t express enough how grateful I am. I literally just want to tell everyone about it.

“There are so many of us out there struggling.”

    - by Brooke Russell
I was just talking to a friend last night from Recovery Beyond. I reached out to her and she reached back and I said, “I gotta say this. I’m really struggling.”
She said, “You know what? Me too.” And that connection right there just made me take a big deep breath and say, “Ahh.. Okay. I’m not alone in this.”
Without community… Man. We’d be done for. To volunteer with this group is truly a Godsend. It really is. And it’s helped me so much.
