Megan is a person in long-term recovery, a licensed addiction and mental health counselor, a certified peer, and a tobacco treatment specialist. She has been professionally involved in the behavioral health field for over 15 years, with extensive experience in non-profit administration, program development and implementation, grant management, and leveraging community resources. Megan understands the importance of healthy alternatives to substance use, family and community engagement, and life-long support for those affected.
Megan is also a person living with chronic illness, having been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder in early 2024. Despite (and because) of life’s ongoing challenges, she is an avid purveyor of the philosophy ‘when was the last time you did something for the first time?’
Megan is thrilled to be part of the Recovery Beyond family in a role that offers a balanced way to pursue her passion and help facilitate adventure for fellow seekers of healing. In her position as Peer Support Manager, Megan collaborates closely with our Executive Director to develop, lead, and manage protocols for staff and peer volunteers who provide individual peer support to Recovery Beyond members. Her work focuses on creating a structured approach to peer coaching and guiding while also strengthening the role of our Peer Advisory Council. These individual peer support services are a vital part of our mission, offering personalized connection, guidance, and encouragement that go beyond what larger group settings can provide.
