2024 Mountaineering Training Series

In Person Education — Snoqualmie Pass Exit 52
Safety & Snow Preparation

Location:
Snoqualmie Pass Parking Lot off Exit 52
1001 WA-906, Snoqualmie Pass, WA

Schedule:
1pm: Meet in the Big Parking Lot to the right of the offramp of Exit 52.

1:15pm: Walk over to the Trail where we will be training. About a 10-15 minute walk.

1:30pm: Gather Together & Learn How to Self Arrest.

2pm: Break into smaller groups & start practicing!

3pm: Gather back up & learn some techniques on hiking in the snow.

3:30pm: Lastly, hear some pointers on how to fit your backpack to your back.

4pm: Walk back to our cars & head out!

Tips:
We are going to be spending a lot of time on snow and around snow, so be prepared for the cold.

Make sure to bring:

• Comfortable shoes/boots that you can play in the snow with.
• Warm big coat or puffy that is for cold weather.
• Layer as needed. – Liners for legs & arms, under armor, synthetic clothing, etc.
• Winter Gloves! – try to make sure they cover all your fingers, fingerless gloves are NOT recommended.
• Winter Hat / Beanie
• Sunglasses – not required, but recommended.
