Joseph Lindstrom’s career spans more than 35 years in technology, with the last 20 years focused on cybersecurity and emerging technologies including IoT and analytics. He has held senior leadership positions at Cisco, Microsoft, Symantec, IBM, and two successful startups, leading a variety of functions including sales, marketing, professional services, business development, software development, and technical support.

Throughout his career, Joseph has demonstrated a passion for learning and mentoring others. During his IBM tenure, he completed two masters’ programs and developed industry-specific knowledge in healthcare, power/energy, and financial services to increase his effectiveness in roles. At Microsoft, Joseph led large scale recruiting efforts by partnering with college recruiting teams and selected universities to source and provide early-in-career learning opportunities for students. Additionally, Joseph and his teams hosted multiple large scale cybersecurity competitions in the US and India that ultimately translated into first career opportunities for top performers.

Along with an active business career, Joseph is a cyclist of several disciplines (road, mountain, cyclocross, and gravel), avid hiker, skier/snowboarder, and voracious traveler with his wife, Melissa. Together, they traveled to Antarctica in 2022, experiencing the “seventh continent” from sea kayaks and zodiacs. An active lifestyle in the outdoors is rooted from his formative years in Bend, Oregon.

Since 2018, Joseph and Melissa have opened their home to University of Washington Medical School students across five states for temporary housing during rotations at Seattle area healthcare facilities. With short-term housing expensive and difficult to obtain, their home provides a no-cost, comfortable and convenient location for students with a demanding schedule.

Joseph is committed to helping organizations and individuals in need, utilizing his professional experiences and personal passions to make a positive impact. He is eager to contribute to the vision of Recovery Beyond and is thrilled with the opportunity to serve the team and community.
